Insurance renewal lol

well just had my renewal through and it has gone up from 330 quid to 630 quid in the space of 12 months

from a vectra 2.2 to an astra 2.2 - same insurance group

vectra 2.2 SRi (150ps) 4d 27
astra 2.2i 16V SRi 3d (AC) 27

90% increase in 12 months

cheapest i got is around 500

it will be the most i have ever paid for car insurance since driving in 1998

Lol sounds cheap to me! i pay monthly £107 a month works out about £1350 a year! Im 27 cars a astra 2.2 16v locked in a garage! clifford alarm! i can't seem to get owt cheaper! kills me not to drive!

well i,ve been with adrian flux for 10 years now,renewal just came online via email,they currently want £566.78
i,m sure i can find cheaper hey?
12 years protected no claims
39 years old living in a pretty low insurance postcode area
astra convertible 2.2 value £3500

if my van insurance was anything to go by ,once i moved house i got a £70 mid insurance refund (aviva insurance)
yet adrian flux at the time said there was no insurance difference(didnt cancel policy and look elsewhere as was mid through it !)
buy i,ll get a couple more quotes and will post the results

lol there installment system is a joke !!!! cost £566.78 but if you pay direct debit 10 instalments (APR 43.2%) FCUK! at £64.61 a month (£25 finance charges! too) so all in all £671.10

either way i think its time for them to go.will keep you posted

I found the same with Adria Flux when paying by Direct Debit. Would have been cheaper now looking back to stick it on a credit card and pay that off over 12 months. That is what I'll be doing next year.

When i first had my Coup it was £1400 parked on the drive when i was 21
secound year was £700odd
third year was £550ish
Now i'm paying £690 on my Passat which should be going down (I hope) thats with Swift Cover

I found Vauxhall insurance was the cheapest for me when i first had the coup might be worth having a look guys 🙂

Mike, give Aviva a call or go on-line fill in the form then give them shout.

Ive insured all my cars / van through Aviva, found them to be very competetive the last two years running.

Currently paying:-
Ford Transit 190 tipper
Commercial insurance fully comp with full no claims ( protected ) £299 for the year.
Vauxhall Vectra SRI 150
3 years no claims fully comp with business use ( protected ) £370 for the year.
Ford Focus 1.6
Fully comp with full no claims ( protected ) £199 for the year

Excess on all £150

Just some examples of insurance costs. Vectra would be cheaper with full no claims. Worth a call. :thumbup:

very low excess whereas others wanted hundreds

update
as insurance is due 16th i got time to look around

a company called pm hart in birmingham so far have come up with £480 same excess

saving of £80 odd quid so far

they have a few more companies to try

minimal charge for monthly payments too not like the ridiculous charges adrian flux have

no extra charge for policy either! and no charges with this company with change of details

so after 10 years or so adrian flux can kiss my ar*e :shh:

my renewal will be coming through the door in the next few days ,im currently with flux .but i'll be looking to get it cheaper ,gonna try chris knott again ,sky insurance ,herts insurance servies,brentwood.
need to find one that deals with modified motors

Aly and myself both had our renewals thru. we're both with privelidge atm(being old lol) ..Both renewals have gone up by around £100 each this year , shopped around and cant get it cheaper.

I was surprised this month when the wife got her renewal though, and it had gone down over £200 from last year.

I tried to get a quote on an Astra G sri turbo fully comp, 3 years driving, 3 years NCB, parked on a drive, 8k miles a year, no points.

I think hers went down because she's got gained two years no claims, and two years driving experience. Makes up for mine being quite expensive.
