HELP!! Need Answers Quick!

I bought z22se Big End Bearings from eBay(Trechii)

They came looking normal but had a hole right in the middle in them.. My Mechanic friend said they shouldnt have holes in them.

The bearings were meant to sit on the Crank where the piston would rotate on it...

Have I got the name mixed up or is this hole normal..? The originals didnt have a hole in them though.

hole is normal for mains & big end bearing
Question how would you get oil to the bearing without holes

I thought that they were fine but my Mechanic said otherwise... And Im sure the ones that came off didnt have the holes..

Just to make sure Im talking about the right parts.. Its the bearing that sits where the Piston is located onto, and rotates on, the Crank Shaft?

every bearing has a hole in it otherwise how do you think oil lubricates it

the gaps are less than a mm

Thats what I said, believe it or not I am a Mechanical Engineer. Lol. And as Ive always seen on the Turbines I work with there has to be a hole,
But my Mechanic friend said I was wrong... So I had to double check.

Anyway.. I'll go a head and fit them, if the car explodes then am coming for Atom and MikeS! :lol:

well take the bearings out and you will a hole in the casting where the oil galleries are

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOUR MECHANIC
I would suggest you weld up all the holes :evil:
if the car blows up go and see your mechanic :oops:
