U2106 fault code???

i recently changed the ECU, transponder reader & body control unit on my car. This was due to the previous owner taking his key apart & throwing away a useless bit of plastic that was annoyingly rattling!! which turned out to be the immob chip!! :o hhe didn't have a spare key neither :roll:

anyways, i found a replacement ECU etc with 2 keys so bought it, fitted it & hey presto the car runs again. The problem now is that the engine management light came on. I've had it diagnosed as a U2106 which after a bit of searching turns out to be soemthing to do with ECU not receiving connection from auto gearbox!! Now my car doesn't have an auto box so no matter how many times I try to get the code removed it'll just keep popping up as it seems that teh ECU i've bought, which I wasn't told was from an auto model!!

Is there anything I can do to sort this out?

yep, i think it's the fact that the ECU must have been from an auto model, my car is a manual so the ECU is trying to communicate with some kind of autobox module that isn't there!!

it doesn't affect the running of the car at all but when i come to sell it the light will be on on the dash & then it's getting the prospective buyer to believe what i'm saying about the ECU autobox thing!!

if you got the security code for the ecu then i can disable it for you

i might even be able to do it without the security code

I've not got the security code unfortunately!! I bought the ECU etc off of Ebay!!

i'm guessing i'd need a laptop for opcom?? which i've not got!! only got a PC!!
