Hi guys......thought replacing the broken dipstick housing and replacing the sump silicone gasket and the rocker cover gasket on My 51 plate SRI 150 Z22SE would cure my oil consumption problems.........but......no :thumbdown:
Its done 85K........so i wouldnt have thought it would need a rebuild......what can it be ?
It drives ok.......over 5000 rpm and pushing hard there is a hint of smoke out the back.......and thats all the clues I can give notsure.gif
Its idle is a little lumpy and irratic......I thought about cleaning out the throttle body for this ? Theres quite a bit of burnt oil on the butterfly valve. Does it need a gasket ? some people say yes.....some no ?
Theres no water loss......no mayonaise in the oil or water........
I do 105 miles every day and its using from the full on the dipstick to the trip computer warning me low oil on every trip ?
Piston rings maybe........How much would it cost to have the head rebuilt ? The car is mint and I'd like to fix it rather than scrap it.. :buffer ..Its so much fun to drive........ so any ideas or prices would be appreciated. cheers..
