Are cam sprocket bolts reusable?

I know the genuine GM timing chain kits come with new bolts for sprockets but are the bolts reusable? Anyone know if they definitely should be replaced?

The reason I ask is that I went for the non-genuine (BGA) timing chain kit from Autovaux and it didn't come with sprocket bolts. I asked Autovaux about this and they spoke to BGA, who gave the following answer. "bolts are only included if they are stretch bolts".

The crank shaft bolt is a stretch bolt so I have bought one of these. Does anyone have a repair manual stating that the cam sprocket bolts should be replaced?

they can be reused, so can the crank bolt

if you consider the size of the bolts and the torque they are tightened too then they are not stretched when installed

the 10 x head bolts and the conrod bolts should always be replaced as they do stretch

yes, they look ok, well apart from the balancer chain tensioner which looks a little dodgy :silent:

i actually fitted a none gen kit today i had my arm twisted todo it by a mate and i have to say it was shocking how bad it was and not much cheaper than a gen .it didnt have bolts or sprokets and was made from piss poor stuff ....i also removed a full none gen kit from a acar a while ago and it was also shocking how poor the quality was .. lol i say always use genuine ...
