No water pipes have froze (Again)

My water is not working this morning, I even left the heating on last night on a low setting. Whats the best way to go about this notsure.gif . I had a little water come out of the cold tap this morning but it stopped . My house is lovely and warm from having the heating on last night. The pipe that froze on me the other year was lagged up so that should have been ok dunno.. . Just checked the temp outside and it's -8C

Yes we are. We have been on the phone to them this morning and they said that there is nothing they can do for frozen pipes. We will just have to wait until the pipes unfreeze.

It's in my outside cupboard with my electric metre. It's behind a upvc door so not much draft could get through. My pipes in that cupboard are lagged up as well. My water is still off and I still have no heating. I was given two little heaters today from the council, they said they can't do nothing else dunno.. . I have just been out and bought loads of bottled water :crazy: . I have also left my cold water taps open all day, not a drop has popped out. I have a little mini heater in the cupboard to see if that frees it up dunno..

Not having much luck at all, the front door is having issues closing, well it closes ok but when I lift the handle up it feel like it's getting stuck notsure.gif . It's a newish upvc front door, I forced the handle up in the end and it's worked :? , it still don't feel right. If it's breaks they can replace it :roll:

sounds like door alignment for the locks but u can adjust the locks on those doors

as for the water aint u got a blow torch or sommit and give the outside pipes a quick heating up

Put a bit of oil on the door mate that might help it out! sometimes they get stiff after a while

ur pipes need laggin mate i take it the pipes have no protection on them? so if the council say their is nothing they can do put that to them. and then tell them u aint paying ur rent untill sorted.................

and reference the door......... it sounds like ur internals are sticking take the strip that runs down the side and spray sum oil based lube in their mate.

My pipes are protected with lagging, they put it on last time they froze up. I will get my girlfriends hairdryer out tomorrow and see if I can free up the pipes, I hope it works :crazy: . I will put some oil on my door catches, see how that works out. Cheers

you should watch ice road truckers

they use a hammer and a blow torch on anything frozen lol

lagging dosnt stop freezing, only delays it
eventually the water inside the pipe will freeze

Is it sealed all the way round?
once the supply returns (hair dryer is a great idea as there is minimal fire risk)
pack lots of insulation round the pipes

well if the lagging dont work in a cupboard thats out of the elements then the only other option would be a heated cable dunno.. but that wont always stop it.
