Hi
a mate of mine told me today that you can check the MOT history of a vehicle online, this inc any info added to the system, like reason for failing MOT & advisories!! It also shows the mileage at each MOT so if you're buying a car & the present owner doesn't have any old MOT's you can have a quick check yourself in the space of a couple of minutes!!
You basically just type in the vehicle reg & either the latest MOT test number from the MOT cert or the document reference from the V5!! The history goes back to when the new system came in & started mid 2004 so depending when the car had it's MOT it's records may start in 2005!!
I've just checked all 4 cars I have at the moment & i'm pretty pleased. The Vectra has got a really good history with only minor things like brake balance, brake pads, bulbs, tyres & eng/man light etc!! 🙂
My GTV has got even less with just a couple of tyres, handbrake force, airbag & eng/man light which was last yr before i bought it.
The Alfa 147 & the 206 HDi have got loads more stuff. Same again, tyres, brakes & also exhaust, ball joints, suspension parts rubber boots etc etc!!
Anyways, here's the link

Oh & sorry if this has been posted before, i did a quick search for "mot uk" & didn't find anything relevant!!
