it comes from mediaval times. it was done to ward away evil spirits,
they run around 8 barrels one for every pub in town, its a tiny town more of a village really.
i used to live there and me mate ran a barrel once about 12 years ago.
its a free event that relies on donations.
well worth going, the only rule is not to touch the barrels you WILL get a slap!
there is no route its completly random you just have to get out of the way by any means necessary!
