My New Car

Picked up my new Astra Sri 2.0 Turbo 200+ XP today. I feels great to drive, nice and smooth no knocks or bangs. Sport button works well. Just a few questions about it. Should it have cruise control? My stork does not have any buttons on it, can cruise control be fitted easy enough if I don't have it. On my Vectra Sri I could hold the button down on the remote control fob and the windows would go up or down by doing this. The Astra does not do that, or do I need to do it another way other than from the buttons inside the car? Any other tricks I should know about the Astra? Cheers

Yes it can Mark. Most of the MK5's have the clutch switch installed, you just need to buy a stalk, and have someone activate it with Tech2/Vauxcom.

You can open and close the windows off the keyfob. Do the windows go all the way up/down automatically from the buttons inside the car?

Cool about the cruise control part. Just been back out into the car and the windows from the switches work fine, go all the way down with one press both sides. Tried it on the remote again and nothing notsure.gif . Looks like i will be fitting my new Pioneer radio into it as the old radio is just a normal cd 30 model. My Pioneer has built in bluetooth

inside the car, press the button to close window and keep hold of it until you hear a click , this should reset it

I will try it, just noticed my bumper has headlight washers built into them :razz: . I have just de badged the Vauxhall Astra 2.0 Turbo section on the silver strip. Matt whats the button for on the interior light, not the one that switches the light on but another one notsure.gif

Those are just blanking plates Mark, my bumper has them as well :oops:

Middle front is the interior light, ones either side are the map lights, and the middle rear (red on mine) is what you use to turn the interior alarm sensors off for when you lock the car (if there is a dog inside, or you leave the window down a notch).

One thing I found missing from the car folder was the car pass with the codes and numbers on it notsure.gif . I have both keys but no pass

Tis around £30 from ure local dealer, but you need the log book in ure name to get the pass

The persons I bought the car from were only young, both 24 years old. The lass had just passed her test and said it was too quick for her. I could tell she had just passed her test as the front xp skirt is scratched and the side passenger door has been scratched and touched up recent and both front wheels are scuffed :roll: . I will make it good again with my tlc, I can't wait to give it a good shine myself 8-)

That's not exactly first car material!

Does make me wonder how some people that are 18/19 get on without killing themselves in such powerful cars.

Lol, thats what I thought. I wish I had that as a first car when I passed. She could not drive it, looked like she scratched it a few times :roll: . I will get it back to factory new again 8-)

Cheers 🙂. Still not had another go at the windows Matt. I think the car had an aftermarket alarm fitted and taken off again. It has Clifford stickers on each window on the fronts. I was just wondering if they have cut a wire or something for the remote windows up fob issue I have notsure.gif
