I'm aware of whats in the Z22SE module which is why i'm using it. I want to get away from using a distributor, so will use my own engine management to produce the signals needed by the 'ignition module'.
It may seem strange, but thats actually a far easier soultion that using a coil - producing a circuit that contains both a low voltage microprocessor and a driver circuit for the coil which will probably have to cope with around 100v is quite tricky. The Z22SE module seems to take inputs of relatively sane voltages (I haven't measured but I assume its 5v or 12v) which are far easier to drive.
