omg ive had some rubbing noises on my steering notsure.gif so i put the steering full lock to the right and checked behind the passenger wheel and noticed a thick rubber gaitor thingy lol has popped off at the wide end. :thumbdown: i think its on the driveshaft but this popped off can it make the dry rubbing noises? notsure.gif if its broken can anyone tell me how to fit a new 1

its the inner CV boot matey, you'll want it replacing as soon as (more so now due to the crap on the roads)
basically its filled with greese and there a very small splined shaft so you'll not want any grit etc. in there else you'll have bigger probs.

carn't 100% say this is your noise but its deff a thing to sort.

its not a big job as such but its not somthing you want to be doing if your not a very big DIY fan of car work.

if your not but you fancy doing i'd at least get a haynes manual

im not that good with the diy side my dads an old skool mechanic he will help i got a free haynes manual online will have a look thanks

Driveshaft need to be removed to fit a new gaitor.... tis quite an easy job to do , but you will lose gearbox oil in the process ,so that will need topping back up after u have refitted the shaft....
