electric windows

my drivers side electric window has a mind of its own lol. when im closing it it stops near thye top and goes back down its self does any1 have any suggestions why?
ive just bought the car and its my 1st veccy so dont know much about it plz help!!!! notsure.gif

Hello and welcome. When the window gets near the top and returns is when its meeting some sort of resistance as the windows are designed to drop if something obstructs them as a safety feature. Maybe you need to remove the door card and use silicone spray on the window guides and maybe grease the mechanism?

hey johnny cheers for the reply cheers.. the window is going up but about an inch from the top it starts going down theres nothing visible obstructing it ill take the door panel off 2moz and do what you said see if that works :thumbup:

most vectras do this there a pain in the ass need to strip door and there a size 12/13 on door panel to ajust and tighten up this should solve your problem

Try Halfords or a local motorfactor for silicone spray or use Back to Black to use on the guides if you have any.

i sprayed the window guides and the window closes properly now no problems thanx again for advice :thumbup:
