firstly i'll say hello as this is my 1st post!! :wave:
right, basically i've been offered a a 2001 2.2 SRI 150 from a lad at work. The other morning after our night shift he couldn't get the car started so i offered to have a look, cranked fine but after a few goes at bump starting it etc i noticed there wasn't any smell of petrol fumes at like you normally get, if there's fuel getting through that is!! So i told him it seems fuel system related so could be a number of things inc immob.
After telling him that he tells me he had his key in bits earlier & a little black thing fell out & he couldn't find it & car hasn't worked since!! So basically it looks like he's lost the transponder & he hasn't got a spare key. It also needs a couple of other little jobs doin but nothing too serious.
I've had to buy spare keys etc for several cars in the past but i've never had a vauxhall before so not sure what exactly needs to be done to sort it. I'm guessing if i buy the car i'll have to buy a new fob & get somebody to programme it, like an auto locksmith. Roughly how much does this cost?
With other cars i've had you could programme a new car yourself if you had a working key to start with!!
