hi all, can anybody help me with this? ive got a 2001 2.2 astra bertone & im having trouble reading the codes, ive got a memoscan u581 reader & it fails to connect to my car, however it connects to my brothers 2001 1.8 astra, on my car the the no6 pin in the diag plug isnt there, also the pedal test dosnt work on my car but it does on my brothers, im after a code reader that will work on my car but dont want to buy another one that may not work, can anybody reccomend one that will work with my car, many thanks lee

i know gendan engine check & vaux check work perfectly with the 2.2 engine

you looking about £100 for hardware and software and many hours of enjoyment lol

i can't see any reason why it shouldn't work.

Have you tried hooking it up with the ignition on position 2?

Where are you based as someone local might have a code reader to try?

hi, yes ive tried connecting it with the ignition in pos2 & all sorts, im just wondering if its got anything to do with the obd11 plug, im wondering if its an earlier version of software,my code reader is for 2001 onwards, but my car diag may be earlier so my scanner might not work, i might have to bite the bullet & get a pro diag & see what software or hardware version the cars running, cheers. lee notsure.gif
