Egr pipe

Hi fitted the egr cheater today along with a new cts sensor as a matter of course. The engine seems much smoother now at tickover the lumpiness has gone. I removed the cheater and reconnected socket to the egr valve and all is well ,so my egr valve is working fine. which one should i use notsure.gif

Does the egr cheater need covering with waterproof tape or has anyone devised a socket to fit over the cheater to hide it away from the elements :idea:

Im also looking to remove the egr pipe form the throttle body to manifold. Is there any blanking plates for this or just leave the pipe in place :idea:

the ger valve usually stick, so it will go wrong again if it has already failed once.

it's best to cover the egr cheater with some sort of waterproof protection

as for the pipe, you need to fit a blanking plug into the manifold

Im off to VW monday to order one of those :thumbup:

My egr valve was working correctly before i fitted the cheater, just testing the egr was not faulty, reference lumpy idle. All seems well now. So would it be better to use the cheater or keep the egr valve connected notsure.gif :?:

thats entirely up to you, but if it works then perhaps sell it dunno..

Hi Vocky sorry to hear about your injury :shock:

Yes i was thinking the egr cheater would be a better bet as there are know mechanical parts just a circuit board. I have left the valve attached just in case.
