Balance shaft removal????

Hi all

I'm looking at removing my balance shafts next week.

All i would like to know is it just case of remove old balance shafts cut off the idle gear machine the ends up, Knock the bearings back 7.5mm and put it all back together??

and

Has anyone had any trouble with them since?

the guy in the states has well over 50,000 miles on the clock since the conversion - no issues :thumbup:

I've stripped down an engine with several thousand miles on the clock after the balancer delete idler gears were fitted, no wear or anything to report 😃

ps: I've done about ten engines and probably the same amount or more have been done by others

Thanks for that, i will have ago at this next weekend.

Do you think it can be done if the engine is in the car if i drop the sub frame?

as long as you can remove the shafts then you can push the bearings back :thumbup:
