there wasnt any out at the shop so it was a gambke if it was gonna be ok. Its only for my inperial tools to live in.

Depends entirely on what you want from a tool chest. I have one very similar that I've had for years, does what I need it to do in as much as it stores those tools that I don't use that often. When the wife bought it for me I think it even came with some basic tools as well. If your not using it everyday then do you really need an expensive tool box, if you are then I can see the reasoning behind it.

Iv got a snap on top box and a sealey tool trolley and a massive bench with draws and cupboards which are for my everyday use tools

but not alot of space for my imperial tools so thought its perfect for that small amount that I have for the mini.

2nd dti came with a stand still waiting on demon twerps to send the tdc tube!!!!

you going to be making a metal bolt on base plate for that carl? 6/8mm works best I found when doing the x20xev timing.
been advised I should dial in the comp cams ive got for best results as their timing is known to be off. 🙁

yes took me awhile to find a suitable bit of plate but i had put it on the bench to grind the nut off it

I did once see some one trying to dial in cams in an ally head without fixing the mag base down! they couldn't work out why they struggled :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Finally got some gas for the welder, wanted argon but £45 plus £50 bottle rental was abit much so went with c02 for £20 instead

c02 for steel
argon for stainless/alloy

you can use argon on steel but you will get shallow welds that are not strong

Argon/argoshield is for steel
Pureshield is for non ferrous metals

C02 isn't as good as argon for steel welding.

we used corgon when I was in fabrication for mild steel, think it was 5% co2 mix with argon. that's what I use at home. works on stainless as well, not really any good for ally though.
pure co2 and you need bottle heaters as well.

Yeah Boc advised me to use argoshield as its a great all round gas for welding, even overhead work.

C02 is being phased out for the above reasons, it works but not as well as argon.

Argon when used with stainless or alloy makes the weld look awful, Pureshield gives a much cleaner weld.

New toy in my workshop, side loading so can get large parts in like motorbike frames etc

N its cheap gas so that will have to do.

Got a few bits today.
Etch primer, 1mm cutting disc n flap disc n clamps for the mini.

Granville black rvt for the corsa sump(gonna take it off n clean the oil pickup pipe)

Trxs spanner set(for if i ever take the engine mount off again)

N tape measure cos its tradition to buy 1 every time i go to gjs haha.

Mostly the mini but saw the torx spanners n thought of the engine mount on my car n 1 bolts a bitch so for £7 i thought iv got to have em.

n the sealant for the corsa.

I have to spend money if i got to gjs(its a great shop)

That clamps handy because (if you didn't know it already, sorry if you did) you can put the bit with the captive nut in it on the other end. It then turns into a spreading clamp as well, I have a couple at work that I use a fair bit.
