Water leak ?

Hy all , since i got my vectra running again , i've come across a new problem , water leak ? every day i put like 2-4L of water for a 20 mile journey . Water just vanishes , none under the car , i checked all the pipes everthink absolutly no leak , i even put radweld to maybe seal any leaks . I noticed the water has a bit to much pressure when engine is at optimum temperature and car starts to shake a bit and consumption goes up also small misfires, i made a small hole in the cap to let air out car seem to be a little bit better but i don;t think that is a solution for long term. So any ideas could be very helpfull cheers

Be worth checking your compressions as this sounds like a head gasket on its way out to me.

with the car running hot, do you get a lot of white smoke out the rear of the exhaust? or a mix of white sludge in the oil?

this would confirm cavaddit's suggestion.

Have you checked the thermastat isn't blocked or knackered?

There is a test you can have done at a garrage wich involves testing the water for combustable material that way it will prove its leaking into the cylinder/Cylinders.

i checked the oil, seems fine amd clean. Was changed like100 miles ago. Haven't checked the termostat het, head gasket was also chaged when the oilwas done also timing kit and cylinder head with calves. I'm thinking he put head gasket wrong because the mecanic took it off 2 times and put back same gasket. Engine now runnig fine with a even smaller missfire and consumption on idle went down from 0.3\0.4g\h when not running good to 0.2. Will check termostat and exhaust fues and reply with ews. Ty

If he took it off and put it back on two times then that would be the same case for the head bolts wich are in the same situation as the head gasket you only use them once and throw them away!

If by sorting out the thermostat doesnt help go back to the garage and kick his ass!

I talked to him on the phone and by the way he talked he put same head gasket , gonna go face 2 face and kick his ass til he say the truth and get everythink sort it out at his expense, payed him a lot of money already. hmm ty for all your responses will keep up to date till problem fix ty

Sorry i shouldn't load people up with bullets and dont literaly kick his ass it might cause more problems :lol:

The point is tho theres no reason to have to take the head on and off so many times and if thats whats been done then it was obviously done because of a problem when refitting the head. and if thats the case it should of been taken back off completely and new gaskets and bolts used. You might get lucky and be able to fit a head gasket twice but the bolts are 1 shot wonders.
