new to the site but not vxs lol im looking to find a few things out if any one can help please
a mate of mine has a z20net?(i think)in a vectra c now he has a full spare engine minus block now he rekons i can turbo my 2.2(z22se) useing all the parts from his spare enigine as in escance they are the same engine but mine is bored out more.
now i have no idea if this is true or not however ive looked at his engine and the 2 are nearly identical so can it be doneif it can is it just a case of fit all the turbo bits and the new engine harness from the ecu
like i say i really have no idea so just wanted to find out if its at all possible

I think the turbo and other parts are inter changable but the ecu's aint.

So if you do go down the turbo z22se route drool.gif you'l more than likely need a aftermarket ecu like megasquirt.

Or the other and easyer option would be to swap the lot over and use the z20net with a new net block in your vectra.

Got a feeling that it's written on here somewhere that the ecu can be re-mapped for turbo use.

The blocks not bored out, its the same, it just has a longer stroke.

The hardware seems to be bolt on to a degree (devil as always is in the detail).

Tonns of info out there if you know where to look, the americans call the Z22SE an ecotec and the designation for the 2.2 is a L61 iirc.

As prev post mentioned its the management thats the issue.

Z22SE uses a Declo/dephi GMPT-E15. Cant find much info on on flashing/remapping or Tunning (as our american cousins call it) for this ECM/ECU. Saying that it must be possible to do as the Hahn Kit and Dbilas kit would need to sort out fueling and I have seen a hand held flasher for sale that supports it but no details on how it works or how you can get maps etc.

GM also had a map for the supercharger which would go some way to allowing the ECU to see the extra intake psi and provide the right amount of fuel.

Perhapse someone can shed some light on how courtney / regal overcome the management issues. flash/piggyback/standalone?

I've heared a lot of people say there are remaps for the turbo - but I've never seen/heared anyone actually do it! which leads me to believe it doesnt exist. Piggyback is not an option on our cars, only standalone.
