just joined up as advised by pottsey :wave: :wave: that i may get some help with my little issue, been around the vectra scene for a few years now, done a little stint as a rep in the SE on vvoc, but stepped down due to ill health. have had 8 vectra's in total in the last 4 years. my current being my first diesel (must be getting old)
i was not too sure that the diesel 2.2 was covered on here, but here goes anyway
got a vec b 2.2sri, dropped a valve a couple of months back, and had to resort to driving my dads f**d.
anyway, the head, valves and pistons are all knackered, been looking around for a replacement engine, but they seem to be in short supply, and the ones that are around seem to be way over priced. notsure.gif notsure.gif
done a bit of searching around and found that the same engine was used in a saab, found the engine number and there seems to be a few more of them about and a sensible prices.
can anyone advise exactly how much of the engine will be the same if removed from a 2003 saab 9-3, to fit in my vec b, i.e. the pump, sump, injectors etc etc. i dont want to pay for an engine which i will then need to re-bulid to get sorted.
i know mine is a z22dtr and the saab engine is the same block, but are all of the other engine components the same?????
any help would be greatly appreciated.
