can you buy uprated ones for the vectra 2.2?? anyone??

I don't think you can, JohnnyN fitted an additional front mount from an astra, might be worth a go dunno..

what about the atandard ones mate.are they expensive?? easy to fit?? i know mine are shot.

i cant do what johnny did as i dont have the tools and equipment or come to that anywhere to do it so i have to look at another way.could i brace it any other way??

might be worth fitting some new standard mounts, especially the rear mount

front mount is really easy, the rear mount is a git to access the 2 rear bolts

ill change both of them first then ill look at it again after.

is there any other way to brace the engine other than how johnny did it??

the vectra mounts are quite good, but age makes the rubber go soft and thus more movement

What about an engine torque damper?

Iv seen alot of jap cars with them.

I guess you'd be better off going on the geabox end of the head tho then onto the bulk head.

I've looked at this option too. There is already a hole drilled into the suspension turret for location.

It would look the nuts too!

Idealy it wants to do directly above the diff and as high as possible that way its less twist on the other mounts.

If i could get just the damper cheep enough i might be able to work out a kit :think:

If you're going to start welding then you may aswell do what I did. Also a double bush setup would be defeating the object. You need to have a fixed point of location aswell as a damping/bushed location.

then i will only bush oneside.
i cant do what you did as i said before i dont have the facility or tools to do the threading, as it is i am going to have to get the guy who does my exhaust to weld the plate for me

I bought a small right angled drilling head from Maplins and got a drill made up in work to fit the chuck which I can do the same for you and send it on if you wish. You can buy a tap wrench and tap set from Halfords or a local motor factor. You would then just need to buy the mount/bolts from Vx and buy yourself a polybush. You could either just get your welding chap to fabricate some brackets or do as I did and troll ebay for someone breaking an Astra or Zafira and get then to cut out the subframe section where the mount bracket are.

Its just a case of drilling 1 hole that is already marked on the bell housing, tapping it out then assy the mount to the housing. Once this is bolted in place you can see where you need to attach brackets to the subframe. It took me weeks of messing about trying things out but we got there eventually.

well ive got 2 weeks to get it sorted before i go away to bath for the weekend so i dont have much time.

i recon it will work ok and shouldnt be to much work.

if it doent then ill do what you did when i get back when i have more time

whats wrong with bushing both side?? i though this would stop and vibration transfering?

What vibration? Have you got vibration now?

If you bush both sides its doubles the amount of movement. You are trying to restrain the engine from moving as much. That means holding it secure at one point and damping the at the other point.
