A new fault has developed on my astra 2.2 Z22se... Y Plate 2001
Start the enging and it revs to 2k and then back down to about 750 rpm... that im not sure if it is normal or not, but seems fine, the engine is sounding lovely... it pulls good and has a great feel to it.
However, when i get to the lights and take the car out of gear, it stalls. (not every time but alot of the time)
equally if i am traveling down a road and put my foot down on the clutch, the revs go down and it cuts out completly, i watch the rev counter go down below 500.. and the engine needs restarting..
its not happening every time i disengage the clutch but avery 4-5 times....
i have today taken out the throttle body and cleaned it, i did notice some oil in the inlet manifold beneath the TB... so anyway i cleaned it up and put it back....
no change...
i then took apart the EGR valve and completly cleaned that out.... put it back together and still getting the same issue...
what do you reccomend i do ? EGR cheater with a blanking plate ? or new throttle body ?
Ohh yeah 1 last thing, when this first happend my speedo died... (rev counter fuel and temps are fine)... but the spedo no longer works... im stumped.
any input would be great
work that has been done on rit resently, oil and fuel filter change, new timing chain, new sparks, new air filter.. im a bit stumped on what to do... Im not gona take it to VX and pay another 50 quid for them to tell me my lambda sensors are faulty... (which they are)
