We were towbarred!

He reversed into the side of the Zafira this afternoon. OS rear door and sill. He's told me to get some quotes and get it fixed. Had one quote this afternoon for £550 inc. VAT. They said that they could pull the dent out by welding a series of pins to the area then side hammer the dent back out. I've seen it done by Ed China on Wheeler Dealers. I'll get some more quotes on Monday. Christine is fuming. :oops:

Oh bollox, doesn't look good. I've seen him do that as well (also seen that Dominic Little do it with a van). On the plus side, at least it wasn't the veccy

No. I just couldn't believe that he didn't see the car there as he had to walk round it to get into his garage????? It feels awkward that he has to pay for it too. It just doesn't feel right.

It's only fair that he covers the cost though, despite it feeling wrong for him to have to pay for it.

I remember when we brought a car off my parents, the bonnet catch broke and felt so bad that they paid for the repair

Had another quote today from Graydon Motors in Bristol.....£1000!!

That's to remove and replace the door sill, paint, repair the door and paint.

Saw my mate today when I was picking up my car, Honda s2000 with a pretty similar "injury" to the car . So had to find out how much he was going to charge the dude ....£1200 but that was to fix a rear end shunt too .

The trouble is theres quite a bit of work involved with changing the sill. You can see it needs a new one as its curved in a bit before and after the dent.

They'l charge you for a new one but more than likely cut what they need out of the new panel and cut out the sh*t bit and weld the good bit back in.

Hope you get a better price tho and get it sorted :thumbup:

What you could also do is buy a sill and get a good welder off here to weld it on for you and then just get it painted! Im sure someone will weld a sill cheap for you

The lower door frame (the bit you step over to get in) is bent too. I'll try and get another quote this weekend.
