I fitted one of Nick's polished throttle bodies at the weekend & have been very pleasantly surprised by the results. I took it easy for the first 30/40 miles or so & then gave it some beans & WOW!! What a difference!! No more jerkiness, hesitation or flat spots & a much quicker throttle resonse. I have to say that I'm very pleased with Nicks efforts. The difference between the two throttle bodies is quite extraordinary; the butterfly valve, in the original throttle body, is thick with claggy, black oil residue (not sure what this says about the state of my engine which is standard with 78,000 miles on it :shock: ) so the better throttle resonse is maybe not too surprising - the fuel/air flow in the original must have been dire!
In fact I spent a bit of time on the car at the weekend & fitted new lower arms (& spark plugs) at the same time as the throttle body so it's driving better than ever now. I was thinking of selling it for something smaller & more economical (I probably will do eventually) but I think I like it too much now so I'm going to keep hold of it for the moment & enjoy it over summer 🙂
