floppy disk

not sure if it can be done ? my misses has her cv on a floppy disk (not needed it for years thats why it is on there)

anyway when i put it in the 'A' drive it asks to format it,but i will lose all the data on it.

is there anyway of getting the data off there 1st ?

If the pc is asking to format it, its seeing the disc as unformatted i would say gaz, so i would say her cv has long gone....

Ive never tried to run data recovery stuff on a floppy disk before, but if it really is unreadable you may be able to quick format it rather than fully format it and pull off the files that were not overwritten.

Yeah probably what I would try, you can try like cleaning the floppy drive might be caked in dust or try reading the disk thru DOS.

i'm happy to see i'm not the only one still using a floppy disk drive 🙂 (will lose it soon though 🙁 )
