Well i finaly got myself a new camera we went away for a week in the lake district and my old trusty kodak packed in so treated myself to the canon G11 :thumbup:

I have heard that this is an excellant bridge camera, I have been looking to buy the same model and i what better pictures than a point and press but not spending the money on a full digital SLR.

The cheapest i've seen it is about £400, where did you buy yours from?

It is awesome!! the pic quality is superb I don't know much about camera's YET but my brother is well into them and he recomended it, he has the G10 and if he knew then what he knows now he wouldn't have even bothered with his SLR it's smaller and does the same as most SLR's except the zoom.

I bought mine from warehouse express it's only down the road from me it was £414 :shock: have seen them a little cheaper online but what happens if they go wrong? at least i can take this back if i have to?

That's a most excellent camera! I've got it's little brother, the S90 (same sensor) and the photo quality's fantastic. :thumbup: Right proper versatile cameras. And then stick on CHDK and you open up a whole new world of extra functions 😃

Dead safe to try out. You copy the app to the memory card and then boot your camera from it. By default, it'll only boot the camera's firmware and you have to choose to boot CHDK. If you don't like it, delete the boot file from the card.

Looks a great bit of kit, just had a quick google on it.
I like mine but struggle with taking indoor pics - with flash too bright but turn it off and the shits go blurry!!!

here's a couple matt but like i said i know nothing about photography so was just point and shoot but I will learn any good sites you can recomend matt for some tips?

and one for Drakey this one was taken in our living room with no light on it was very dark and it came out ok :thumbup:

well i'm getting a little more used to the camera now and it really is awesome. When you change any setting it shows what the picture will look like on the display before you even take the picture so you can make sure you have every thing right :thumbup:

there are some great settings on there that i thought you would have to put through photo shop to get the same effect.
black and white but keep one colour.

and also pick a colour and change it on this pic i changed red for green not great (poor light etc) but you get the idea

oh yeah and a while back we treated ourselves to a new printer mainly because of the price of a new ink cartrige for our old printer and we are now printing more pic and this printer is great quality and the ink is CHEAP colour £9.99 and black £6.99 :thumbup: the lower model won the gadget shows top 5 showo..
