Hi Guys,
I have read some great info thru this site about the infamous timing Chain debate and fuel injector and high pressure fuel pump. You have all been a great help.
My poorly 2.2sri 05 reg is in the garage as we speak in need of a high pressure fuel pump and a timing chain a repair to the casing as a random bolt has sheered and been rattling around in there some where, repair bill escalating towards £2,100 so far. Only done 41k miles.
Bin in touch with the oh so helpful "Customer Care" Team the emphasis on "Care" at Vauxhall for a financial contribution in view of the age of the car and also there is not supposed to be issues with these parts on newer cars. However, they have offered a big fat "Caring" zero contribution.
Have been in touch with trading standards and have wrote a nice long letter to the finance company advising them of the issue and asking for them to take the matter in hand, under the supply of goods act 1973.
I would be interested to know of any one else who is experiencing similar issues on a newer model, as Vauxhall claim it is not affected, which is clearly not the case.
Thx
