sdbutler10 Dint know if anyonenhas heard this yet but vauxhall are set to release a new warranty on there cars. It's a lifetime warranty or 100k for the first owner only. What do you think of this then?
MikeS love to know what the definition of warranty means pmsl excludes exhaust, brakes, clutch & anything as a result of a leak
alb9694 Where did you hear this? Any links? I think it's the right way to go to stay competitive, what with the longer toyota warranties etc. Won't help the resale though if it's 1st owner only :-(
Matt http://www.astraownersnetwork.co.uk/sho ... hp?t=98637 DEEJ said: it is on new cars registered from the 1st of august 2010 and is for the 1st registered keeper of the car ( for now expect an announcement in the near future for 2nd keepers ) it is only on passenger ***cars ***not vans the terms are the same as now for the 1st 3 years as in get it serviced every 12 months and under 60k then from then on it is get it serviced every 12 months upto lifetime of car or 100k . full terms will be in the public domain shortly and will be advertised everywhere and anywhere
Matt Yep, they've got to make the money back some how, as most Vauxhalls start to fall to bits after 3 years. Mine is back with them at the minute!
MikeS i was at star city vxhall last yr and was speaking to a woman who bought a brand new astra they couldn't get down to the fact the horn wouldn't work - she would get the car back every few weeks then the same would happen again i said it would fail its mot with no horn and then it kicked off :silent:
Matt lol, my car is in there at the minute for a strange noise when you blip the throttle when the engine is cold. Told them all the details, and that it only makes the noise when the engine is cold. So what do they do??? Take it for a drive to get it upto temperature! I've had to leave the car with them all weekend so it's cold for Monday morning when they try again
Matt Yeah, quite a few apparently. Most have it and ignore it, and others have taken it in. [url= https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNcTZIDrk88 They re-packed the alternator pulley with white grease to fix the other persons issue, so I'm going to suggest this to them on Monday morning.
MikeS sounds like fuel line / regulator priming looked at the new warranty today excludes serviceable parts & anything related to wear and tear so that excludes brakes, exhaust, clutch, engine fluid leaks
