Whats this noise at home?

I have had this noise at home now for months, it sounds like a dripping noise but I can't seem to find any water leaks notsure.gif . The noise just comes and goes as it pleases, it tends to come on at night when I go to bed :roll: . I have had someone out to check it but the noise had stopped :crazy: . I managed to catch it tonight when I came in from work on my Iphone 4. You may need to turn the volume up a little to hear it. What could it be? I even went outside to check the outside cupboard with some pipes inside it but nothing was found apart from a spider :lol: . This noise is doing my head in dunno..

After focus on the spider at close up range it decided to stay locked on close up, hence the picture quality looking poor when I go to my dog :roll:

air in the pipes? sounds a bit like my radiators coming on in the morning

Not sure on that Matt. I have not had my rads on in the house for ages. I can hear this noise on both floors in the house, in my kitchen and upstairs in my bathroom. It sometimes goes on for nearly an hour. It likes to come on at night when off to bed, then back on a few times through the day. It's stopped at the moment :roll:

one of your pipe clips have prob come loose mate

I did have problems in the winter with the pipes in that area, they froze up and burst. They then got fixed and they put some lagging on my pipes. I never used to get that noise before the burst pipe notsure.gif

Not easy, from outside I can see so far up. In the bathroom I have to remove a wooden panel to get access

if it was air-lock you wouldnt get hot water . now im not a plumber but id say 99% of me thinks their is a clip come loose so the pipe bangs. when does it start to happen?

It makes the noises at random times, at night when off to bed, first thing in the morning. It does it through the day at stages, some nights it will be ok

u got thermostatic valves on your radiators?

I have yes, thing that turns rounds for different temp settings

apparently and i don't no if its true but if one is not open proper they can cause alot of pressure on the pipes and can make them rattle. so make sure they are all open dunno..

but I'm still positive a pipe is loose and is banging away like two 80yr olds :shifty:
