Anybody fitted quaife ATB

Has anyone fitted an ATB
if so are they any good?

Not my self personally but my mate had one in his vento vr6 and it was worth every penny corners and rounderbouts were just perfect grip all the way no wheel slip.

they are very good for FWD cars, not so sure about RWD dunno..

For FWD applications at the very least, I prefer a plate diff over the "random throw a 6 to get some sort of reaction" ATB style of diff.

Who make plate Diff for F23?

I had thought about Gripper before
I agree that they are better than ATB (absolute total bollocks)

I am depositing F23 M32 & F40 diffs at gripper tomorrow

It depends what you want to do with your car, but a plate diff for a road car... no thanks :thumbdown:
(and an ATB without a torque damping hubs Revoknuckle like stuff... no thanks again)

I've driven a 90% set gripper in a car on the road for many many many many miles, kicked its head in on track and driven home again and it was pure bliss.

Then drove a mates ATB'd car of essentially the same spec and it nearly sodding killed me the pile o gash randomly hauling me at the apex when I didnt expect it, then spitting out again to run wide.... grrrrrrr atleast a plate is always there and you know what it will do 🙂

Interesting, I was planning on fitting a quaife to my spare box too. Are they random all the time or just when your nailing it?
Fitting one for loss of traction due to poor road conditions rather than using the road as a racetrack.

The 'only' benefit is that an ATB is fit and forget. Whereas every couple of years you might want to pull the plate diff and send it back for a rebuild/check over as its got clutches etc in it.

I'd look at better tyres before fitting a diff for the reasons you are thinking about.

Absolutely, tyres are on order.

Yeah the fit and forget did sound good, I did have a search with google, but only heard positive things, but 90% of the internet is people who don't know better.

I have opted for Gripper
they are making me one as a sample
once approved
Then Gripper can produce to order
