Hey guys its me again......Wife got home yesterday 3 days and 800 miles later. she was off to birmingham today 300mile + round trip so i went to top up the oil and it took 2.5 litres. i got my wife to sit inthe car and slowly increase the revs on the engine and as she approached 3000 it started to pour out smelly black smoke.
I am begining to get the feeling that i have bought a right lemon. dont get me wrong i love these cars and always wanted one......the only thing is i dont have an endless amount of cash to throw at her.....and i am sposed to be driving her to italy and back in 2 weeks and i aint even got the aircon working yet.
So what i am asking is.....whats the deal with the smoke.....what am i looking at and how much to fix her....or as a quick fix for the italian job...is there anything that i can do cheaply, i know i am asking for a miracle...but i am desperate now.
Has just had full service with no oil residue on plugs, there are no lights on the dash and the car is fine to drive. i have not worked on cars for over 20 years as ive always bought nearly new and sold them before there 1st mot....but times are hard and i bought this for our new family car.
