Crank pulley bolt help

Hi all,

As you can see, I'm a newbie here. :wave:

I've done a few searches but haven't come up with much. Hopefully this will only require a straight forward answer. I am having trouble removing that bolt! Having a VX220 I should simply be able to put the car in gear and with the hand brake on. This really doesn't do anything and the crank continues to turn while I try and loosen the bolt.

Is their a alternative to the Sealey VS4768 Holding Tool?

unplug the coil pack and put a power bar on and get a mate to crank it. that normaly does the job if not a windy gun.

Thanks for the suggestion Ken but I don't have excess to a windy gun and I feel cranking it maybe a little risky just in case it doesnt loosen.

get a mate to hold the cams with a pair of 24mm spanners, the bolt will then undo :thumbup:

i just put a breaker bar on the bolt and wedge it against the chassis and let the starter motor do the work
