dash relays - need help lads

:thumbup: hi boys

as above, is there any relay responsible for lights on clocks? on tunel and on reg plate?
switch is working ok,all lights are working even lights in switch but clocks aren't notsure.gif

all fuses checked and bulbs as well notsure.gif still no luck
had second switch to fit and no difference lads

any ideas? any relay responsible? if yes - which one

possibly the multi-timer is playing up, I once had to repair the circuit board on a vectra B

it's located inside the fuse box, you need to remove many of the relays and fuses, then pull out the plastic pin and it slides out

so your saying that once u flick on your headlight switch everything is working bar the instrument panel back lights

yes mate notsure.gif flick the lights and MID its working but lights on clocks not, same story with reg plates ligths notsure.gif and tunnel but windows switches are ok,
cheked all fuses,relays,change that thing what vocky said

was the timer unit a known working one....?

the rear numberplate light runs directly off the headlight switch

grey / green wire

seperate fuse = fuse 18

your rear tail lights also run directly off the headlight switch [obviously] but have seperate fuses but there is a brown wire used for both the number plate as well to earth - the estate version has a separate earth point though m8

and for your instrument panel illumination it has a feed from fuse 22

there is a brown wire that runs to the multi timer from the insturment panel that creates the circuit / switch for your illumination - i would start here and work backwards - could be a simple diode that has popped /damaged on the back of the instrument panel

the mid display also works off the same circuit

from looking at it again switch on your head lights and check voltage between a green yellow wire and a brown wire - there should only be 1 of each on the connector on the back of the instrument panel this is the circuit from the multi timer
