Just drove some hundred meters when engine started shaking and bouncing and making ugly noises, EML and TC came on , rpm went to 2000 on its own and then enine starved.
Had a look and found that in Cyl. 2 the center electrode of the spark plug was missing. Must have gone through the engine, I couldn´t see any debris through the spark plug hole. Fished for pieces with a magnet and also with a vacuum cleaner with small hose attached, but found nothing than black crumbs and oil.
Put in new spark plug and started. Engine ran normally. After some minutes in idle I took it to higher revs when it began shaking and bouncing again, as if it was running on 3 cylinders only.
Removed spark plugs, and on Cyl. 2 smoke came out of the hole. Also Cyl. 2 spark plug electrodes were completely wet with oil as well as the piston surface.
Compression test (engine warm):
14,3 - 13,3 - 14,2 - 14,5
So what would you recommend?
It´s a 2001 Tonewada engine with 115k , drank about 1l oil per 1000 miles lately (not to mention cracked exhaust manifolds and snapped studs, broken timing chain, egr, ...) there was no visible blue smoke, but exhaust is covered with black powder inside.
Thanks for your opinion !
