problem with engine!!!

Ok so ive rebuilt engine now got it running, replaced the catalyctic convertor and o2 sensor- now seems like its misfiring slightly, checked all plug hols and found that there are no coolant leaks ( thank god) how ever i have noticed a very small amount of oil on no2 cylinder plug ( not smoking at all though) would this have anything to do with it or would it be something else perhaps need new plugs or even new coil pack??? dunno..

to add to that no3 cylinder is also sooted up and no4 clyinder is same as no1 although seems to be some unburnt fuel in there.

just so you know car has had a complete rebuild (top end) new head, valves, springs, and seals also piston ring were replace bores honed etc.

Ya thats what i plan to do matejust for info the compression readings are as follows

no1 13
no2 12.9
no3 13
no4 12.5

This doesnt seem out enough for something major and all picked up very quickly

rings are new valves are new and were seated etc, seals are new with new springs hmmm guna try plugs first then coil pack then fuel rail i have a spare anyway dunno..

i have taken it for a run and it does feel very slugish and not very responsive and lost power hmmmm damn thing :evil:

only thing is i have booked mot for tomoz will it still pass or not?

It should aslong as it burns enough fuel so the emissions arn't rediculously high but as you say change plugs then go for coil pack and fuel rail as you have spares lol

shall get new plugs tonight and go from there lol i have an old fuel rail that came with my recon head but it looks in worse state then the one thats on got a feeling its coil pack as seems to be unburnt fuel in no4 cylinder on top of piston

hmm changed spark plugs and no change still the same
read haynes manual and it says could be one of the following
faulty fuel rail or injector
choked fuel filter
coil pack/ignition leads
fuel line blocked etc
crankcase ventalation hose disconected or split
injector blocked
hmmmm i aint a clue where to start now i have a couple of spare injectors but i wouldnt have a clue how to tell which one is faulty if any

anyone got any suggestions before i start changing parts?? plan is to get it through mot and then put it on diognostics whilst there see if it does show any codes as eml is on and flashes when i drive it

mis-fire is usually the coil pack or an injector

just wana say thank you to everyone for all the help with my vecy, bet everyone has had enough of me on here lol, but it is now back to life after a few little problems which turned out to be a dodgy coil pack. :thumbup: now can treat her to a good clean and polish and get ready for the s/c convertion i have planned for her :thumbup:
