loss of power steering

my girlfriend was driving the car when the battery light came on and the power steering went, ive checked the level of fluid, looks fine, i cant see any leaks, if its a case of the pump packing up, is there anyway of testing it? thanks in advance for any help

the power steering pump is deactivated when there is a charging issue stupid idea but all should be fine when you get the battery light problem sorted :thumbup:

so chances are its the alternator? im going to car the rac and get them to check it, thanks

I had the exact same going down chesterfield bypass at 90 then when i got to end realised i had no power steering. Just had it around round about at end lol. On mine it was the regulator that had gone down you can get them changed but there not cheap cost me nearly £80 lol
