Rear silencer removal

Got a new back box coming for my Vec C , 2.2 (Z22se) as it's badly corroded and looks a right mess!!are these quite easy to fit, or more to the point how difficult is it to get the old one off? also does the new one require exhaust paste to seal the joint or are they of the self sealing type?

Is it sleeve fit or tapered flange? The sleeve type can have paste and the tapered flange type should have a wire taper gasket. Get some penetrating fluid on it first and allow to soak for a while. If that doesn't work, a trip to the garage for some heat may be required.

i think vec c is sleave type,yeh wd 40 usually gets them off but if your strugling tap a flat head screwdriver around the sleave to open it up and with more wd 40 and a bit of twisting and pulling should pop it off
