Child seats

I need a car seat for the coupe (stage 2 onwards) so went looking over the weekend but they all suffer with "Buckle Crunch" so are not safe.

I really want the recaro young sport as this seat should last up to she is 12 years old and it looks the nuts. I'm gona try and get a seat belt with a shorter stork and fit this to the coupe (This is the main problem the seat belt buckle has to long a stork and touches the child seat) and see if that will eliminate "Buckle Crunch"

Just wondered what seats others are using or am I the only coupe owner with a child lol

You can get some seats with double anchor points but they are few and far between. I had a Recaro for Lauren. The belt fitted across her as a normal belt would if you were using a booster seat.

I remember having trouble buying a stage 1 seat with the buckle crunch and also just getting the seat to sit straight between the leather bolsters. It is difficult getting a perfect fit. Hope you can find something.

I have a Britax seat fitted in my coupe (http://www.britax.co.uk/car-seats/first-class-plus) the seat buckle goes through the metal bar at the rear of the seat.

I still have my heart set on the recaro so gona try a shorter stalk first if not the Britax looks the way to go cheers.. :thumbup:

I'm just not to keen on spending out on a seat that i'm hardly going to use. At least if i get the recaro we can use it in the mrs car when she grows out of the seat she is in now (maxi cosi axiss) but saying that i want her safe!! so if not as i say Britax it is.

That's the exact same one as I had for the Vectra before we bought the Recaro. Its the only one that fits safely and has the double anchor points.

It was a very good seat.

I am also getting told mixed things about buckle crunch was going to go for the next level Maxi Cosi but wasnt happy with how it looked after i read up about Buckle crunch.

Also the britax King did fit in the coupe simon just as another option?

well after looking through the scrap yards today I have found the answer to my problems and am now the proud owner of the Recaro Young Sport child seat showo.. showo..

for those who have the same problem:
I have used the seat belt buckle out of and Astra H 2004> they have a shorter buckle strap (actually it is a wire cable) and don't cause Buckle Crunch :thumbup: showo..

Oh and i'll rate the seat as a 10/10 it fits a treat and is very secure looks and fells comfortable and not a bad price either would defo recomend :thumbup:

Good idea by changing the buckle. That seat looks great too! Does it come with built-in headrest speakers?

No but i have zone control on my head unit so spud can listen to what sehe wants in the back anyway :thumbup:
