Tyre help please - are they buggered?

Today blackcircles.com delivered the Toyo Proxies - I'm pretty concerned about them as they both look buggered. I've never done mail order tyres but heres the thing, it looks like they have been securely over fastened and have bent the rim of the tyre in two places and has pushed the tyre wall out

Here some photos - fecked or it come straight under pressure?

I can see your concern there mate, looks like something has been sitting on the tyre tread that has caused that bulge I suspect or sitting upright with some weight on it, the worry is , has it weakened the tyre wall, to be honest mate I would be taking that back for a replacement just in case, might also be worth looking at the date stamp on the tyre also as it maY have been sitting around for a long time and really tyres should be changed every 5 years I believe or at least that is the reccomendation.

Both of the tyres are like it - really really pissed about it as I have the car booked in tomorrow and I'm going to look like a tw@t cancelling on the day. Dont want to put these on and have too much lateral/radial run out 🙁

they should come straight under pressure mate.
however there could be unseen damaged to the side walls
and thats not a problem you wana discover at 80mph on the m1
trust me if it was me id change them

I can understand your concern here. I bought the very same tyres from blackcircles too but I had them dlelivered straight to the fitting centre so I never got to see the condition of them before fitting. I think you would be wise to contact blackcircles and let them know your concerns. I'm sure they will be more than willing to sort this out.

Thanks for all the comments - I dropped Wheels in Motion a post, they are very trusted in this area and was happy with the response. Basically it seems lots of tyres are like this as they are wrapped proper tight when shipping and should pop out fine

I'll get them fitted tomorrow and inspect, will update this thread

No complaints at all. Keeps my front end in check, just about, lol.

They grip well wet or dry.

Tyres fitted today and they pulled into shape no problems - the guys doing it said they always have tyres like that. As never buying mail order before, I did not know however you learn something every day :lol:

There is one problem with these tyres.... they stink of piss. Seriously, I put them in the car this morning then I smelt of piss, then had them fitted - went for a drive parked up and could smell piss outside. THEN, when I was walking back to the car park, I was about 20 feet away from the car and I could smell piss again. MY beloved Vectra now smells like a Glastonbury urinal dunno..

Isn't that the lubrication they use when fitting the tyres to the rim? I know when I had mine fitted on the Vectra, the new tyres smelt like piss for several weeks, until I'd washed the alloys and tyres a few times to get rid of any excess.

the lube is carp and does stink, them tyres are fine anyway bit late now but oh well, once theres 2.5bar of pressure they go in to shape

They stunk before the lube went on, my car stunk of piss inside this morning - I'm sure it will reduce in smell :lol:
