i, myself don't see my engine as a problem.
i bought the car and got the chain done in the first month, theres a little bit too much noise when revving high in 1st gear for my liking but don't think its anything unusal.
mines burning a very small amount between the 3K oil changes, in fact i see mine as a good engine. i remember when members started changing intakes and using breathers etc, and putting them out the way or too catch tanks for the excess oil, and in the last 18 months mines not even put 1ml down the breather, its still as clean as the day i fitted the need breather pipe & the underneath is bone dry.
was more worried that some were saying the 10w40 is too thick but then again theres still plenty using it on the 2.2 and i never boot it when cold and i do get the oil hot while driving it but on the other hand i don't want to use a 5w30 and the oil find a route to leak from and it make the engine noisy.
i'll maybe use up the couple of 5lts oils i have in 10w40 and try a 5w30 after that and see how i get on.
