Had a bit of time today, so i thought i'd strip down an engine i bought recently. Just as well i did!! Head looks to be fine....but...the 're-worked' bottom end isn't quite so good!! Bearing in mind this engine has only done 400 miles since all this work was done (hmm), i found i had almost 1mm of play in the big end bearings and upon inspection they were down to copper. Was suposedly honed too (yeah right!!) and the skim on the block was done with sandpaper. Anyhow, having got it down this far i may as well do the job properly and at the same time fit some decent pistons. Will be taking it to be honed and may go oversize if it's in need of it. Sooooo, the question is...whats the best pistons to go for?
