vx220 servicing

Hi guys I was wondering if you could recommend an oil and set of plugs for a NA VX220 only 32k on it if that maatters!
I tried to search but couldn't uncover much sorry!
Is it worth while spending a little extra or does it make little difference?

standard GM plugs and oil are what most people on here recommend.

as above, standard plugs are the best and their oil is very good too :thumbup:

autovaux are cheaper otherwise the dealers

plugs are approx £4 each

oil is approx £40

What is a fair vx220 price for oil service with new filter and fully synthetic 5w-40?

parts from the dealer would be around £100 for plugs, oil filter, sump seal and engine oil - with the vat

then probably the same for labour at the dealers :silent:

You can get a discount on items from opie oils.

I've just looked on their site, and they are recommending 0W-40 for the 2.2?

Great, looking like autovaux then! What volume of oil does the 2.2 need? 5L?

vx220 can take upto 6 litres due to the oil cooler system, 10w40 is better for the z22se or 5w40

If its a track then 0w is OK

lol so really any grade ending in 40! Think I will just get whatever is reasonably priced, doesn't seem to be a massive consensus!

in cumbria all the vauxhall dealers are doing
what they call 4 year + club full service on any vx over 4yr old £129
worth asking your local if they do it :thumbup:
