sophos9 Any idea on why the z22se changed to plastic cam covers in the Vectra C? Is there an advantage in having a plastic over metal? Condensation perhaps? Thanks
MikeS they were plastic on the astra's as well unlikely as condensation / sludge is still the same on plastic cam covers just a new design vxhall brought , perhaps over time heat warps the covers 😛
sophos9 Strange - the X30XE had plastic covers however the X25XE has metal. Many X30XE conversion owners ended up junking the plastic covers for the X25XE metal ones as fitted to Vectras as the plastic ones were prone to warping? dunno..

rushy Never known a plastic one to warp on the Vec C. Cheaper to produce i'd imagine. Early Vec C's still had the metal one, but later SE's and all YH's have the plastic one. Funnily enough, they swapped to plastic at about the same time they started dropping little gadgets as standard. Totally unrelated but Benny has found a few Vec C;s still with the old smaller oil jet as well.

All 01 and 02 models i have seen have the metal, 03's were a mix and 04's are all plastic
