they stopped warranty claims on the Z22se engines a few yrs back as they stopped manufacturing them
I was always under the impression they would not touch this engine if it was more than 5 years old so in theory 2008 was the cut off date and even then most dealerships tried to get the customer to fork out a good 50%
back in 2000/ 2001 they had a massive recall on these engines where you were able to take the car back and they would replace the engine free of charge if it met certain criteria
