Hi all
I'm new to this forum. I have a 2001 Vectra b SRi saloon. I love the car and have had it from new, so know everything about it. During it's life it's had a new engine when the dreaded cam chain went when it was less than 3 years old (all done under Vauxhall warranty), but other than that it's a great car and I still enjoy driving it.
Anyway, couple of things you might be able to advise me on. I don't know if its a 'feature' of these engines, but when accelerating quite hard there is a tiny bit of lag when changing gear and putting the power back on again. Is this normal? It's done it from new, but still annoys me! I'm sure I've adopted my driving style over the years to try to counteract it!
The other problem. When it was having a little strengthening bar fitted to stop the air con hoses fracturing (I think it was a recall from Vauxhall), It then developed a vibration coming through the bulkhead at certain revs. I know it's this bar, as I took it off and the noise went. I was advised to put it back on though as the hoses might break. Noise back, no surprise!
Has anyone experienced any of these problems.
Cheers all.
Simon
