Dont worry too much buddy. Everytime I do an oil change on mine It taps a little for the first couple of seconds until the oil fills the filter and is pumped around properly. I think the problems enhanced when we use engine flush. It tends to make the oil a little thiner so when you drop it there's really nothing left in any of the ports? dunno just a theory.
Also, the whole smoking thing, Mine has done that but only when I miss it on ignition, you know, when you start her up and let go of the key a split second before its properly fired up. You turn the key again and becouse of the automatic preignition fueling you flood the bugger and it takes a couple of extra turns to fire up, and then when it does it kicks out a little smoke. Runs sweet again after that.
