piston damaged or not lol

i will try and post some better one's, took them with my phone so havent come out to good, i took head off and there was no piston what so ever in the block

I had to repair a z22se engine which suffered similar damage :crazy:

its the same piston, are these common on the z22se engine? i didnt think you would be able to repair these once they have broke like this

new block, new crank, new rods, new pistons, head welded and new seats and valves fitted (head was a big valve ported job)

so 'repair' was basically 'replacement' :lol:

ps: not a common failure but there have been about 3 or 4 mentioned on here

well replaced mine now with a 56k block, only prob is the head, think the valves got damaged when the piston broke, its in engineering garage now awaiting repair, never had this car on road yet, cant wait till engine sorted, had a vectra before this, bought it with a broken chain, so replaced all valves new chain kit and it run like a dream, just hope this one does :thumbup:
