sean Hi i have a vectra 2.2, i bought it as a non-runner the chain had jumped so i have done the work on it but its still smoking. Done valve stem seals on it and new head also head gasket. Any ideas will be greatfully received. Thanks SEan
sean hi its blue so its burning oil. If the piston ring gaps are squashed will it still run normally just smoke? Thans sean
francav i thought blue was fuel, black oil, white water, could be wrong but im sure ive seen this before
sean Hi its smelling of oil too so don't know its just finding a solutions we've got a lovely car just smoking its also failing its mot because of it. cheers Sean
vocky sometimes when the chain snaps the pistons get damaged, this causes the engine to smoke because the rings cannot function correctly the only solution is to replace the pistons it's happened loads of times on the z22se engine
sean The chain hadn't snapped just jumped whilst on tick over, we've noticed its happened a lot to these engines. We should all petition to vauxhall with it lol get them to sort it clearly it must be a fault with the engines?
francav i believe there was a fault on these chain kits when they 1st come out and vauxhall did repair if it snapped before a certain milleage, how ever they have made they kit alot better now, but i suppose they still dont stop these chains from jumping or snapping, just bought a new one myself and been told there good for hundred thousand miles.
