Fishtailing

Got this strange issue going on my Vec C that's been happening since ownership really; when coming off the throttle and going round a right hand bend I feel this sort of shaking of the car going on, almost as if it's somewhat fishtailing round the bend, if I keep the load/ throttle on it doesn't happen at all, only seems to happen around the 40mph mark and as said only on a right hander! all suspension bushes etc are ok although I do have my doubts about the strut bearings , but not convinced that would be causing it, any suggestions welcome!

both my vec C's have done that from new :silent:

I've just put a set of B4's and Eibach on last weekend and mine still does it, in fact I think it may have made it even more nervous at the tail. I think the upper control arms are next as the bushes tend to fail and then a full Hunter set up.

I think the firmer sidewalls of the "extra load" tyres doesn't help it much either.

I walked away from this, it was 8 weeks old when it rolled :wtf:

Not a lot mate, no bunny hopping (as I call it!!)or anything like that, which helps to tell me that rear end bushings etc are ok

Nasty mate, bet you were gutted at the time, but at least you walked from it, which was the main thing.

Was thinkng tyres all along regardless of what manufacturers fit.
Some very highly rated tyres suffer same symptoms i had 4 Vredestrein ? 3 years ago and biggest mistake ever made. S..t me up time and time again expected or not, understeer to oversteer independantly on front and back with no warning or feel, needless to say Toyo T1R went back on less than 2k later.
Original fit Pilots fold on the sidewall and show a degree of fishtailing but nothing compared to above better rated tyre.
F1 so far are the stiffest on sidewall but dont last, well about a third of T1R and S.

Got Falken 452's on it at the moment , but it had either dunlops or michelin (can't remember which now)when I got it and was doing it then with those.

I'm running Goodyears, they seem a little better

Michelins weren't great, dunlops seemed ok

Might try those next time or was also thinking about Kumho's as I've heard they seem to work well with the Vectra.
