Are reagal remaps seen on tech2?

Ive got a mate with a 08 corsa vxr its done 18,000miles and has had 2 new air con pumps and a new rad already :wtf:

Its just recently given up on him and he's had enough and needs to get it into vx to get it done under warenty.

The car has been put back to standard and only thing thats a bit of a concern is that its been remaped by reagal.

So if vauxhall pick up on the fact it been remaped i dont think they will carry out the work on it.

Can they actualy tell if it has been mapped or is it something they wont know about?

I dont know that much about it but i would say that all thye would able to see is how many times it has been re-written too.

I am sure if they did some digging about it would show us.

In what way has it given up?

I havent had a look at it but it oblitorated another air con pump last night and seems like the pump has taken something else out with it.

By oblitorated i meen bits of it flew out :wtf:

Things like that shouldnt be happening to a car that age and milage.

So chances are then if its a big warenty job they'l look into weather its been messed about with?

If Vauxhall suspect the ecu has been mapped, they will take the ecu off and send it to thorney who will check if it's had/got a map. If it has, they will void the warrenty on the car, and charge him for the pleasure.

In a way i suppose you cant blame vx for doing that. cus if youve increased the power and thats the cause of things breaking its not really there fault.

Ive been over to see it and it looks like just the air con pump so thats handy for him.

Really stupid how they just break tho,

I should of took some pics it literaly split in half and one side has been blown out of it :eh:
